While pretty much everyone in the United States eats fast food, there are certain chains that people love more than others. If you were to ask your typical American what their favorite fast food restaurant was, there’s a good chance that they would say Chick-fil-A. After all, the restaurant that specializes in fried chicken sandwiches and nuggets was voted as the country’s favorite, thanks to their food and service. One college sports team loves Chick-fil-A so much that they made a long journey to the Albany International Airport to get their hands on some.

The team is the cross country squad from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which is located in Troy. They wanted to get Chick-fil-A, but the only problem is that it’s well over an hour to drive to the nearest one that’s not in an airport. So they decided to get a little bit savvy. With the Troy International Airport being abou 30 minutes away, the RPI cross country team went there instead. The airport has a Chick-fil-A, but you need a ticket to get by the security gate.

The solution was to have everyone on the team pitch in to buy the cheapest plane ticket that they could, and have one member go inside to pick up the Chick-fil-A. The ticket cost them just under $100, and even more was spent on the food. After all of the money was gathered up, they spent a grand total of around $325 for the ticket and all of the food, which had over a dozen sandwiches, waffle fries and chicken nugget orders. “The Bois gotta eat!” a caption read of their Twitter post about the trip said.

It was track captain Vincent Putrino that made the trip into the airport, and was holding on to all of those bags by himself to the team that was awaiting his arrival outside. Meanwhile, there was someone that was on the plane that went from Albany to Fort Lauderdale that was able to enjoy the comfort of an empty seat next to them.
