"Working late and had only three hours sleep when this tornado busts in our bedroom, jumps on me and pleads with me to get up and take her to my closet (she keeps toys in my closet) to play. We get there and then, surprise, she refuses to play and just wants me to hold her while she makes fart noises."

Those tattoos on the Rock's shoulder aren't just for show. In Samoan culture, those beautiful, elaborate tats actually represent family history, with various branches and features representing members of the family. A member of the legendary Anoa'i family, a professional wrestling dynasty dating back more than three generations and including luminaries like The Wild Samoans, The Usos, Roman Reigns, Yokozuna and Rikishi, it's safe to say that the Rock's family tree has a few more branches than most. One of the newest branches of that tree is Dwayne Johnson's second daughter, Jasmine.

Second Daughter Of Three

Dwayne Johnson's second marriage, to Lauren Hashian, was made official in August of 2019 at a wedding in Hawaii, though the pair had met in 2006 while Johnson filmed The Game Plan (2007). This was actually a few years after the birth of their first daughter, Jasmine, on December 16, 2015.

The Rock has been one of the biggest pro wrestlers in the world for more than twenty years, a leading Hollywood star and television actor for at least fifteen, he's featured on rap songs, and even started a Youtube channel in 2016. He is without a doubt one of the busiest men in entertainment today, but don't think that that makes him any less of a devoted father. "Tired as all hell, but thought ehh there’s gonna come a time, years from now, when jumping in my arms is the last thing she wants to do and ain’t gonna be cool anymore. So I’ll always take these moments while I can."

Of course, having a new kid in the house hasn't slowed down Dwayne's career any, either. Since the birth of Jasmine, The Rock has starred or featured in countless film and TV series, including Moana (2016), The Fate of the Furious (2017), Rampage (2018), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), and Fighting with My Family (2019), a true-life story of wrestler Paige where Dwayne features as himself. Most recently he's returned to his Fast and Furious and Jumanji roles for Hobbs & Shaw (2019) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), and serves as producer and lead on the 2020 film based on the Jungle Cruise ride from Disney, Jungle Cruise (2020). Dwayne had been rumored to be playing the titular Shazam! (2019), but wound up serving only as a producer on the film.

On television he's been busy with Ballers (2015-present) in a role which has wo him two People's Choice awards and an NAACP Image nomination, and serves as host and executive producer on The Titan Games (2019). In 2015 he even found time to star as Luke Hobbes in a voice role for the theme park ride Fast & Furious: Supercharged (2015). In short: If you're worried that a new child might keep The Rock from dominating entertainment in every medium under the son, don't be. He's doing just fine juggling the responsibilities of both parenthood and stardom.

What's Next For The Johnson Family?

Only time will tell if Jasmine decides to follow in her famous father's footsteps, as Dwayne did in his own father's, legendary pro wrestler Rocky Johnson. Maybe someday we'll be seeing Jasmine carrying the torch for a new generation of Anoa'i dynasty warriors. Or maybe she'll be drawn to Hollywood. Whatever the future may hold is still unwritten for Dwayne's second daughter, but she certainly has the makings of one of the greats.

Rumors continue to circle Dwayne Johnson, as well. Every WrestleMania season there are supposed "company leaks" reporting that The Rock might return to the squared circle for one more throwdown this year. The Rock does return for sporadic, mostly non-wrestling appearances from time to time and even had a six-second impromptu match in 2016, but hasn't been a full-time wrestler in quite sometime. Of course, that can't stop us from keeping our fingers crossed that he may have one more main event in him.

In politics you have families like Kennedy, in film you have the Fondas, and in wrestling you have the Anoa'i dynasty. It's too early to say whether or not Jasmine Johnson will eventually become a part of that legacy, but when you're born wrestling royalty, the option is always there.

"I was raised by strong women, and that DNA is in my daughter and wife."
