Even when their shift is over, many police officers remain vigilant. In Albany, one officer that was off duty spotted two people that were wanted, and ended up arresting them. The two men were suspected of a burglary.

The officer spotted the men at the Motel 6 on Watervliet Avenue Extension and pursued them. The car that they were driving, a van, had been reported stolen. The suspects then led the off duty officer on a chase, leading to more charges.

The men that were arrested were Travis Smith and Christopher Jackson. The latter had been wanted for questioning regarding several other robberies, as well. Both were taken to Albany County Jail and were charged with burglary and grand larceny. The two suspects now await trial while being in jail.
